"Smart ECEC System” project

Today, technology is developing rapidly. We are researching how cutting-edge technology could be utilized in early childhood education and care (ECEC) to create a safe and rich environment and support children's development.

For example, in collaboration with Prof. Toshihiko Yamasaki’s laboratory at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology and Future Standard, Inc. we are developing a "Smart ECEC System”. Using sensing and data analysis technologies, we aim to visualize the environment of ECEC facilities, develop a system that can be utilized in ECEC practice, and elucidate a safe, secure, and rich environment for children.

In addition, in Prof. Kiyoharu Aizawa’s laboratory at the Graduate School of Information Science and Technology and foo.log, Inc., we are developing a children's version of a food log application using smartphones and tablets, with the aim of supporting child rearing and childcare through "food" from the first years of life.
