Project to support the growth of non-cognitive competences in young children(Joint research with TOPPAN INC. )

Since 2018, CEDEP has collaborated with TOPPAN INC. on a research project that supports the growth of non-cognitive competences in early childhood.

Non-cognitive competences refer to the competences other than IQ and academic abilities and include, for example, the competence to work hard toward goals, the competence to interact well with others, and the competence to control emotions.

In this joint research project, to support the growth of these non-cognitive competences that predict the healthy growth of children, we develop the tablet application that records children’s spontaneous messages and researching how to usage it in preschool.

We are also working on some surveys as follow; the Questionnaire survey on attitude and practice on non-cognitive competences, and the Questionnaire survey on the transition from preschool/ daycare to elementary school.

We also created and publish the animation videos for childcare workers to learn about non-cognitive competences.
